Color Matching

Does any of you guys know much about color matching to an existing color? What I need to know is...I have a freind who has a 2003 Honda GoldWing color is Candy Jupiter Orange...according to the Color-rite folks the manufacturer's code is YR236M...He wants me to paint up a pair of helmets to match. How do I match the color as close as possible to the original Orange GW? I have been painting for about a year but never have had anyone ask to paint a match like this. Thanks guys...great site by the way. I have learned a butt-load of stuff.

Take the bike to your local Dupont jobber and have them do a Spectra Shade on the color. Should match very well.

see if you are able to get a small panel that has the color on it. Take it to your paint store and have them scan it. Compare it with the code you currently have. Now if this is a candy, you need to find out what the base coat is, (most likely silver)
If nothing else, buy you 2-4 ounces of the paint from your mixer and shoot a test panel, it should be really close. The good thing is about helmets , after a few times of them dropping them they start matching better!!!!
