Been awhile since I posted something on here, so here it goes. This is a '58 Chevy BelAir trunk lid that I used to test my color scheme for my '62 Impala. Think it came out pretty good. Come spring, it's on!

wow, definitely going to have a project there. Should be very sharp once it's done.

Thanks. Sure will, I used a grip of tape and masking paper on just that lol. There is 3 green colors of flake (lime, moss, and emerald), plus the silver flake under the HOK Organic Green, and HOK Limetime pearl base coat.

very nice layout!! that blue 3m tape looks good for one of the strip colors! but again very cool layout, after it's striped it will be awe-to-the-some!

Thanks, the Bright green is HOK Limetime Pearl and the dark green is HOK Organic Green over silver flake. The green flake are all made by Kustom Shop ;)

Because I only mixed up enough for this trunk I used a 1.4 tip Husky gun, lol. I have a siphon feed with a 1.7 tip, but I didn't have enough mixed up to make it worth it.

awesome, thanks...wait, mental block...I didn;t ask what flake size you shot?

I'm kind of thinking a light lime green flake over a nice green base.........

hey thanks...the .04 & .08 size were the ones I was scoping out.

I'd also ( remember, new to paint ) guess the flake went on with an intercoat?

I've been reading alot of posts, mag articles etc, and am trying to put together a planof action of sorts by reading, reading , reading, and when it gets warm out on the spring, I'l practice, practice, practice.

Hope to learn alot here, from what I've seen so far, lots of talented folks willing to share.

best,
Derek

Not for sure what candy he used. Looks like he used HOK base colors though.

I have a spot job in the shop that is sprayed in Shamrock Green (PPG). Very nice candy green color.
PRetty expensive though. The customer supplied a 1/4 (yes, 1/4) pint of the candy color only and it ran $80
