Hey i am trying to learn to airbrush and plan on buying some cheap airbrush kit to learn with. Do i need an airbrush compressor or is there a way i can hook my airbrush up to a regular air compressor i have in my garage? If i can do this then i wouldnt have to get a different compressor.
Thanks

You can use any compressor with an airbrush. You will need a air regulator to adjust your air. Air brushs don't use alot of air...

ya, you can. im using a 1.8hp 20 gallon husky compressor. heres what i did, bought a 3/8 inch hose, put on quick disconnect, then got tcpglobals air regulator and hooked hose and airbrush to that. its just a little more work

ok and my air compressor has a regulator on it so I shouldnt need another one right? And the hose for the airbrush wont just hook up to the compressor does it? Or do u need an adaptor for a smaller hose?
thanks

well thats the thing, you need the second regulator to help and to hook the airbrush hose to it, also get the benefit of moisture trap. you could just hook up the compressor but youll need two or three fittings. like a 1/4" coupling then a 1/4" to 1/8" coupling.

ok and i was looking at tcpglobals site and they have a hose that has a 1/4 in inlet and a 1/8 in outlet so this should work
