What is the difference between 2010 carbon flash metallicand 2012 carbon flash metallic on the new2012 grand sport corvette? 2012 carbon flash metallic looks to have more pop or metal flake. Want to make sure the truck colors are different from the cars . Please help

prolly has more flake then. could be a tristage. might have been a change in paint compaines too. gotta look at the paint codes for the 2 years.

Thanks I'm getting ready to shoot my 70 and I really don't like that much bling the 2012 paint is putting off.
Thanks for your input I will definitely look into the last two years on the paint chips . I'm wanting a black with a little pop . I don't think a base gloss black will look right against the silver two tone !

i repainted my sons 95 mustang a few years ago. between that and a 2000, the color name was the same, but the paint codes were different and both looked different( some fancy name for metallic red). did an 86 blazer last summer. dark metallic brown factory color. even though the paint code in the glove box was used to get the color, it had a LOT more metallics in it than the original.
when ya go to check out paint chips, it's wise to do it outside in natural sunlight.

I will know for sure once the lid is cracked open. All I can do is just hope it is a little softer than the vett. Thanks for the info, and I'm had I found this forum.

the main flake is the same the difference is there is a courser flake added in the new color also a blue toner and a red toner used and has more matting agent in it ,

Yep, probably has a coarser flake which would give it more of a sparkle to it, so be sure you order by code and not name.
Not for sure why they would have the same name but the forumula/colors are different.
