Crossover flames

I am doing some layered/ crossover flames with HOK's PBC Shimering Designer pearls. HOK does not recommend doing tapeouts directly over their pearls. Since you can't tape over your first layer pearls without clearing or intercoat clearing (I have never used innercoat clear) how do you wipe off the first layer of pearl(if you cleared it) where the second layer is going to be so the first layer of pearl flame doesn't telegraph through to the second layer.
I hope I said this clearly and you know what I mean. Thanks in advance for any recomendations you might have for me.

I believe if I am reading your question correctly, that the only way to do this would be to mask off your second set of flames, then in the areas of the crossovers, you have to tape out the first flame and spray your second set. So if you try to picture it, it would appear as though your first set of flames is on top of your second set, even though you taped it the opposite way.
If you are spraying the insides of the flames complete, you could clear over the first set, completely wetsand down your edges, then tape the second set on top of it and spray right over, making sure to get coverage. But that would only work if you respray the white (or whatever you're using for a base color) on the second set as well since the pearls themselves are semi-transparent.
Assuming I read your question correctly, this would be two options, depending on what kind of flames you're doing. Of course the second would not work if you were to do ghost flames or anything like that, because they are transparent.
Hope this helps!!
