I was wondering if there is anything different I should do when painting the palstics on my crotchrocket?

Some will say to use a plastic promoter. Ive done a few sportbikes and have never used it, including my own. Some will also say to use a flex adgent in your clear. Again I have never used it and use both HOK UC35 and UFC35 and have never had any problems. I think as long as the plastic has been sprayed before(factory) Just scuff it and you'll be fine.

My bike isn't a sport bike, but the panels are plastic, and I did like tiller said, cept I used Dupont chromabase. The paint is three years old, and the extremely flexible front fender looks great, minus a scratch that was put in it.......

That was with no flex agent and no adhesion promoters. I stripped mine down to the bare plastic.

I would still recomend using flex additive on plastics, although sport bike parts don't flex that much. Adheasion promoters are only necessary if you are painting raw plastics. I don't add any flex to fiberglass parts though, cause the gel coat will crack before the paint would. I do alot of Ducati's and I don't like come backs.

THanks! I am using chromabase so I'll just spray it on straight. I'll let you know how it goes after this weekend.
