custom console painted!

Hey all! I know I don't post very often, and even less with my projects, I'm just pretty busy all the time!
I'm building a 61 Olds bubble top for a guy, going to be a mild 60's type custom. Nosed decked, custom tube grill, tubes to match in the rear, custom taillights. Two shades of Candy Pagan Gold, with real BUick Skylark wire wheels and wide whites.
The guy is kind of conservative, and rejected some of my wilder ideas for painting the car, but I put in a little of my craziness on the all metal console I built for him. It was designed to match the shapes on the dashconsole_w.jpg, and the upper part has 2 doors that slide into the dash and console, electrically, to reveal a GRS/radio. The flat part has a flip open door for cup holders, elec. window switches, and 12 v. power.
I painted the console to match the oustide of the car, and the insert I did with a slightly tinted darker version of the Gold, with some Lace paining done with Candy Root Beer. I was hoping he'd like the lace so much I could do the roof, or body insert as well!

Very cool looking. Great fab job!
I assume he does know about this console though, correct?
I'm sure he liked it if he's seen it!!!!
Sounds like you are almost done with the car. Like to see some pics of the car. Sounds pretty cool!

It was his idea to do a console after deciding that T Bird buckets would look a lot cooler than the stock bench seat. I agreed, esp. so I can hide a lot of the modern amenities he wanted in it. The car is going away for a while, first for a new stainless exhaust system, then to the audio guy, then to upholstery. I refuse to let one of my Candy jobs go to other shops who might not be so careful around it, so I send them out in primer, then do the paint afterwards.
