My shop is currently restoring a 1949 Chevrolet truck and the customer wants it back to factory. Getting close to the paint stage and I start looking for paint. From what I can find there was only one blue color offered to chevrolet trucks in 1949 and it was monaco blue. We mixed a sample for spray out and it is quite dark. The original color on the truck is a much lighter blue.....almost a transport blue. The owner says the factory original paint is on the truck. I can't argue but I can say it is not monaco blue.
Anyone have any thoughts on this to point to the right color? I see GMC offered a different blue color but this is definitely a Chevrolet.
