difference between hvlp and production guns

what exactly is the difference between hvlp and production spray guns? and i know that one is gravity feed and the other one is not.

There are both gravity fed and siphon fed HVLP and regular guns.

The difference is in the way that they apply paint. HVLP uses low pressure, about 10 psi, vs 30-50 psi for a conventional gun.

HVLP is supposed to apply more paint with less waste.

I have never used one, so I can't comment on which is better......

Another difference is that in some states HVLP is all that is legal! Not my state and hopefully not your state. You folks in California need to take a couple of friends and go to the polls and get control of your lives back. Maybe Arnold is the first step. Sorry, got carried away, let me off this soap box! Al
