Having trouble finding the polishing foam and the foam buffing pads and black waffle pad any ideas and possibly a pic or two to reference with. Also would using a 10- 11 " car buffer work for buffing the parts in the final steps.

3m part #015725 perfect it foam polishing pad and 3m# 05734 foam compounding pad. A normal car buffer will not go fast enough. If you are going to buff, spend the $$ and get a buffer. Some people cheat and use a drill, but they usually don't work very well (in my opinion.)

I bought a cheap buffer ($29.00 Black and Decker) since I dont paint very much. The problem with the cheaper buffers is the spindle & nut are not large enough. I found an adapter which takes it to the proper size for about $3.00 at a tool store. I just could not see spending $125 for a buffer that is only used once a year. They work just as good as an expensive buffer . IMHO

I just paid big bucks for the new Mikita 9227C. The reason I got that one was that you can dial it down to 600 rpm. For work on cars theres alot of places you cant buff at 1500 rpm without burning thrue. Also makes a good tool for paint stripping.
