hey all, i know kandys can give he flames depth right? and to go about this i would put down the base color, clear, lay flame, then kandy over all of it? or is that not how its done either?

and can i achieve this depth image with a dry pearl?

im thinking of painting my s10 with strato blue, and i want ghost flames on it but i want them to look like they have alot of depth to them, can you guys explain how to go about this.

I would do it this way for simplicity sakes...
I would spray the strato blue, spray a coat of interclear over the panels you would like to flame (hood, doors fenders), layout, and spray the flames, then candy over all.
Doing it this way, avoids you having to sand after clearing. It also saves quite a bit on materials.
The interclear (SG-100) will help hold the metallics down when you do your flames tape out.

A neat 'candy blue' combo would be BC-03 base with silver ghost flames, then all coated with UK-05. This would give you a deep rich candy blue base with bright rich blue ghost flames. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bigokay.gif

hi there not really up on pearls but can give you a little help on the codes:

bc-03 = galaxy grey (base coat)
bc-02 = orion silver (ghost flame colour)
uk-5 = cobalt blue (kandy colour)

all codes are h.o.k paints

i think this combo would look top banana.
hope this helps you out a bit
