Draw on the design before laying down thinline?

Does anyone know if there's something I can use to safely "draw" my design on the basecoat before I put down the fineline tape? That would sure make it a lot easier.

Thanks,

I always just start layin' without drawing. I don't know if there is anything that could be drawn with over straight base. I'd be afraid it would absorb into the base. If anything, spray a coat of clear, wetsand, then use either chalk or a grease pencil.

Maybe someone else has tried this and would know something that you could use.

Thanks...looks like I'll just take off without a drawing. It sure would be nice though.

It's not going to be clear coated. I'll just hate the black basecoat.

I've tried the grease pencil route. Now I just estimate with a rough sketch and just go for it. from the original How to section I've learned a lot.
