okay im ready to start my first real paint job. i'm just curious on how long to you let the clear coat dry before you can start to wetsand it. on a practice peice i wetsanded with 1500-2000 grit paper and it sanded off all the clear. did i sand it too much, or did i not put enough clear? if that happened can i just spray on more clear, or do i have to start all over again?

I am a newbie but I would say it could be either or. I just cleard my car and it said to apply 2 to 3 medium wet coats and to allow 5 minutes flash time between.

As for if you need to do it again I think it depends on if you sanded into the base coat.

Again I am no expert. I am sure one of the professionals will answer your question soon though.

Usally the paint can be wet sanded and buffed the next day if it is let air dried.some jobs and depending on the paint may take longer. cheaper paints usally take longer

Also you want to put the required # of coats on.If you sand it you want to stop when the peel is gone.Continueing past that and you're removing too much material.
