Dupont Primer ?

Anyone know offhand if I can paint Acrylic Lacquer over Dupont Variprime 625 s ? I'm planning on colorcoating with a stock harley acrylic lacqer base/clear system. I know I shouldn't mix products, but I can't stand having half quarts of paint wasting away. Something tells me I'm trying to mix apples and oranges. Thank you ahead of time.

I would think that is the Variprime is a catalyzed primer you can do this, or it it's a lacquer primer you also can.
If it is just a basic enamel primer, I would not do it.

Not too familiar at all with the Dupont line (sorry)

when using a lacquer base over a urethane prime there are a couple of things you should make sure you do. make sure that the primer is completely cured and make sure that you dont have any areas where you broke through the primer. the lacquer paint will bite into any edges that you have and you may run into a lifting problem. i would also recommend putting your first couple of coats on kinda dry and with ample flash time, to avoid soaking

Thanks for your time. I guess I'll save this primer for a boat trailer project . I went and bought some epoxy primer, and some high fill from PPG just to be sure.
