IM JUST WONDERING OF ALL THE TRADESPEOPLE OUT THE WHAT IS USED?
DO YOU USE A CENTRAL VACUUM IN BIG SHOPS OR PORTABLE VACUUMS ON WHEELS?
WE USE CENTRAL IN MY SHOP WITH OUTLETS IN THE WALL ,THAT 12 HOSES CAN BE PLUGGED INTO AT ONCE.
I'VE USED THE PORTABLE BEFORE AND FOUND IT A PAIN IN THE ARSE TO HAVE WHEEL IT AROUND FROM SIDE TO SIDE OF THE CAR.
OF COURSE THIS WOULD BE THE WAY TO GO IN A SMALLER SHOP.
ONCE THERE IS MORE THAN FOUR SPRAYPAINTERS I RECKON CENTRAL VACUUM IS THE WAY TO GO,ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THE PANELBEATERS NEED VACUUMS FOR THEIR BOG/BONDO WORK TOO.

Our shop bought a portable unit a few years ago.It got used by a painter for a month and has sat in the corner since.I tried it once and got tired of it fast.Punching holes in the paper wasn't too bad,but all the tools were Hutchins.Their 8" mud buster is a POS,and they got the orbital airfile. It's nice for finer work but wat too slow for the rough stuff. They said they'd get the inline file but I told them not to.Damn good airfile but the rack and drive gears self-destruct.I got so tired of rebuilding mine I gave it away.4 out of 5 people have the same problem and swear at them, not by them.Their DA on the other hand is excellent.
