edges of ghost flames in samples of work

Most of the pics you're talking about are Ghost Flames or a variation of Ghost Flames -- They are done with dry pearls mixed with a inter clear then sprayed to the outer edge of the flame - the trick to this is when your shooting them you can't see the "final" results until you apply a final clear - I'm sure everyone that has shot them had a hard time the first few jobs they did - Try a test panel with a feww different mixes and coats and see what you come up with -- Bones!~

I notice that in almost all of your samples of work pictures that the edges of the ghost flames are almost opaque, with the base coat color showing through and deepening the more towards the middle of the flame. I assume that this effect is the result of airbrushing the edges, and then maybe misting over the entire flame area? In the "how-to" section, this isn't explained - the instructions just tell you to spray
