I need to know can I add additional coats of paint to even out the paint coat with sanding again? What did I do wrong?

Scenario: First time Painter, no experience, and used Youtube video
When: I painted the car last one week ago.
Washed: Let paint set without painting for 7 days and wash car once without paint
Color: Kirker, Hot Rod Black Paint Single stage paint!
Desired finished: Satin Black

Problem: The car has areas all over the car where the paint is either darker or lighter. The finish also it feels rough like sand paper. And finally the hood is all missed up, I can see lines in the paint where I think I didn't do my over correctly.

What I want to do: I want to just add extra coats of paint to make the car on solid color or do I have to re-sand it again? Also I am wondering if I keep adding coats of paint will the car no be a matte or satin black?

Please tell me every problem I made and how to correct it!

Hello, Welcome to the forum. I have a couple posts that I posted on this and spraying the satin look.
You have to put this on WET, meaning, you need to put it where each pass meets the previous. When you are done with one panel, it should be VERY consistent as far as the gloss. You don't want to see your passes, as these will only dry this way.
Each pass with your gun has to overlap and melt it WET with the previous.
WYSIWYG
It looks easy, but this is one of the harder jobs to do correctly.

You will need to resand flat and redo it again.

Not for sure if that will help you.

what gun ya got? compressor size and CFM rating? this is a paint that getting a fender or hood fromt he scrapyard and practicing gun setup and control would help greatly.

Good question Steve. Gun quality, technique, adjustment and air supply all play an important role in application not to mention moisture control. You will have to sand it flat and smooth. Then try again after all your ducks are in a row. BTW I like the Kirker you shot. Looks like you might not have had even coverage. Sometimes the streaks will die in time but I doubt it will in this case.
