Finishing/buffing

Ok Im lost! Just finished my flames or so I thought! I sanded up to 1500 and then compounded and buffed, everything looked great! Well tonight I saw it in the dark, the truck was sitting under a light and I could see that everything had small scratches on it. It looks like I took a rough cloth with dust and wiped down the whole thing. So my question is what should I do to get these fine scratches out? Should I hit it with trizak 3000 on a DA and compound and polish again? Thanks Steve

That sucks doesn't it.First determine what the scratches are from, are they random from a polishing rag or did you just gloss up the finish and not remove the sanding scratches. For the first you can just polish it out with a black foam pad but the other you can either either Trizact it or just rebuff it.If you think the clear is a little on the thin side over the flames I'd avoid any more sanding in that area unless you do it lightly.

Its from sanding. I used a DA up to 1500 then I took 1500 on a block and finished. The reason I think it from the block is the scratches are straight up and down, the same way I went with the block. Thanks for bringing up thin clear. Because that was my next question. I think its pretty thin due to all the sanding to get it flat. So do you think I can just compound and polish it again? Man this sucks I thought they were done and I was ready to move on to the rest of the truck /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beat.gif
