Can anyone help? I saw a custom 40' Woody with this great color that my wife wants on her bike. I found an article featuring the car and it said the color was Firemist Orange.I did a google search on the color and came up empty. Anyone know if this is a color or is it some sort of pearl I put over an orange. At a loss Thanks Wayne /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/good_bye.gif

I did some research. Firemist seems to be a very vague term as I found all kinds of firemist paints on the internet through Google. Mercedes has a "Firemist Red Metallic" 2004 code 548. GM has many, many firemist colors depending on which year you are talking about it could be anything. For instance, I found Spectre Blue Firemist, Monterey Green Firemist, Rosewood Firemist, Madeira Plum Firemist, Topaz Gold Firemist, Saffron Firemist... the list goes on and on. I found a listing for a cinnamon firemist and thought maybe you were referring to that so I searched it and found that it looks like a firemist pearl mixed with some shade of orange, like you mentioned. You can search it yourself on Google "Cinnamon Firemist Paint" to see codes. The following are 1970 Cadillac Eldorado GM paint codes:
<u>Code</u>
90 --- Spartacus Blue Firemist
93 --- Lucerne Aqua Firemist
94 --- Regency Bronze Firemist
<font color="red"> 95 --- Cinnamon Firemist </font>
96 --- Nottingham Green Firemist
97 --- Briarwood Firemist
99 --- Chateau Mauve Firemist

All of these GM codes should be easy to code out with HOK, PPG, or any other paint line. Good luck, hope this helps.

Yep. firemist was all the rage back in the 70's. I remember that the paint companies wouldn't gaurantee a color match unless you painted the whole car. Yep, those were the day's.

Elvis has left the building!!

Everyone's right!
I would suggest just going to a local auto-body supply store and choosing a current color that has more pearls, and current metallics in it. In fact, I'm sure you will find one that is real close to the one you saw except it will have more richness and depth to it.
just the way todays systems are.
