first flames lookin good...

I love doing this and I love this board! Wish i could do this for a living... anybody else get done with their first job and suddenly hate the nine to five? This actually took me almost a month total, but the finished product you see took just a week. I messed up when I first started and didn't clean/tackrag the parts very well when I shot the primer. I basecoated it and taped off the flames and shot them, and then when I pulled the tape off some paint came off with it all the way down to metal, and like an idiot, I tried to spot putty and airbrush it and decided it didn't look too bad, but after I shot the clear, I decided I couldn't live with it. All the way back down to metal. Turned out ok, though, because in a moment of inspiration, I decided to use chromillusion green/silver for the flames. It actually goes from a green to a silver to a maroon... very happy with it! Can't believe I did it my self, but then again, I didn't. Thank you for the board and all the tips and ideas and answered questions - everything really helped!

Lookin good

Don't you hate starting over?What a ton of work.Keep it as a hobby,it'll get old as a real job just like most others.I love to paint but I really get tired of doing them at the day job.I think 1/2 the problem is the crap the bodymen try to pawn off on you and if you send it back you end up with a different mess.The mighty dollar has overpowered the pride and workmanship.

Looks real good! Is that your first paint? I want to paint my vs1400 with ghost flames and think I found the color that will look good, the one you used. My base color is teal so I think the color you used will look good.
