Hello, I am painting a friend's 3 gallon gas tank this week and he just wants an old school flat black paint job. I used the search and found people recommend Kirken Hot Rod but I cant seem to find any carried around me so I was wondering if anyone has experience with this Xtreme Flat Finish Clear

I'm pretty new to painting, would this be a bad option for me? I already have some HOK Black Basecoat, should I go with these or with a more one and done paint route? Any common pitfalls working with flat finishes? Thanks in advance.

Everyone Seems To Have A Different Idea Of What "Flat" Black Is These Days. Are You Wanting A True Flat Paint? Or Something With A Little Sheen (Satin Finish). I Did My Entire Harley Bagger With SEM hotrod Black This Spring And It LoOks Amazing. Its A Single Stage And Is Only Sold In Quart Kits. Retails For About $90 (With Catalyst And Reducer) But I Found A Company Selling Them For Around $60 On Ebay. Very Easy To Spray And Complete Coverage In Two Coats.

I also like the SEM Hot Rod Black. Has a very nice sheen to it. Easy to spray
