Hey all!
Painted a few cars years ago, wanting to do my bike now. My question involves HOK products. Just need some feedback as to the ones I'm planning on using. I'm stripping the sheetmetal bare. I was planning on using KS12 met/silver primer/sealer followed by KBC08 Candy Tangerine Basecoat. Then some SG100, with a flame job on that. Finish it off with UC35. Are these the right products? I'm hoping to produce a bright/light colored orange. Thanks to all!

You might wat to use a yellow base coat uner the KBC. That's to brighten it up. Then you will want to use a catalized clear over it before you flame it. Otherwise it will bleed through the SG-100 into the flame color.

Stickman, I just bought some HOK KS10(white primer sealer) and the directions say not to use over bare metal. The tech sheet i got doesn't say anything about spraying it over bare metal, So I sprayed the HOK epoxy primer first, sanded with 600 then the KS10 primer/sealer then my base/clear. Worked great!

So I assume the Kandy Basecoats are still somewhat transparent?

I've managed to get myself really confused here by reading other posts. I want to do this with all HOK products. Need some feedback if this is the right direction. Shoot the bare metal 1st with KP-21, then apply a solid basecoat such as an FBC-???. Then SG100? I can then apply a KBC over this or do I even need the FBC? I've also seen conflicting messages as to what to use over the topcoat before applying flames. Should it be the SG100 or UC35? Thanks for all your patience and help.
