Fisheye problem

I am having a severe "Fish Eye" problem at the shop, we have done everything possible to ensure that everything is clean. We have replaced the filters on the booth 2x's, changed out the compressor, air hoses, Paint gun, added 2 more filters to the air supply line for a total of 4 filters and even put one on at the base of the gun. Have cleaned all the parts thoroughly, washed the vehicles down with dawn soap, used the degreaser and tack cloth, washed all the floors and walls down with water and still, "Fish Eyes" every where, I am at a loss and really need some help understanding this and trying to get it corrected. Appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.

are you sure you flatted off the car first, and got rid of all wax/polish does it happen on another cars, or just the one you been working on ,did you try another/new panel wipe ,your not pushing that tack rag to hard against the paint work , try a barcoat isolator if its the paint , hope this helps

The compressor was changed out with the same style, the first one worked just fine but broke down, think maybe it blew a seal, the tack cloth is lightly done over the surface, we have sprayed several cars and all with the same outcome. We took some panels to a friends shop, and he painted them with no problems. Could the temp have anything to do with it? we set the temp at about 68-72. Its not radiant heat like the other shops but when we first opened up, we did not have this problem. I noticed that the floors of this building were painted with some sort of paint, I would like to think they used a 2 part appoxy paint but am not for sure. It is all pealing up now, could this be causing something. We completed some test panels last night and they all came out with the "fish eye", not a good start thats for sure. Thanks for your help, let me know if you come up with something. I appreciate all input. Thank you.

Not for sure what it could be. My first thought was that it could be oil or something coming out of the lines. Try using low pressure and use a blower to blow air onto a clean white cloth or towel to see if you seen and spots. Not a true way to eliminate the problem, but it if the problem bad, you might see something.
Maybe the lines are contaminated from the previous compressor.

Buy a 'filter ball' and put that on the end of your gun, and see if that helps.

Or, are you close to mechanics shop. Possibly they have lubricants, brake fluid or something else causing the problem.
Detail shop nearby?

I doubt if the floor paint is the culprit, but you never now

I assume you did the test panels at your buddy's shop?

The panels came out clean at the other shop. We are going to install a 5 stage filtering system onto what is inplace and see if theat makes a difference. Hope this works, it is suppose to take out up to 0.01 mc of oil, dry, humidify all that good stuff. Hoping for the best. Thanks for all your help.

Try letting the W&G remover flash for at least 30 minutes b4 doing anything else. If it has been cleaned good at the beginning of the repair after final sanding I wash it with Dawn Dish Soap...... I have just tacked and went straight to color if it has had plenty of time to dry. I think your prob is in this first paragraph for what it is worth. Make sure the booth and the panels are at the temps you posted. warmer is better here.

Let everything flash good too.

If you see it after the first coat of base stop.

Could be like TAZ said....air borne from outside or another part of the shop. silicones like armour all will give you fits.

That brings up a point on the wax and grease remover. Be sure you only use it for this.
Once it's in the booth, do NOT use this. You need a pre-paint cleaner.

Also, be sure to wipe on and wipe off.

Hopefully your lines are not contaminated. If they are, that filter system may not solve all the problem.

I'd still trying the filter ball first, just to give you an idea of problem ideas to eliminate.
