hi there
wanna do a real nice flake job on some new tin, dont want to go mad and use the real big flake, but would go for a medium size
but when i was checking out the house of kolor charts all the flake samples are shown over a black base then cleared over. i know this is to get the most from the flake, but what if you want to candy over then clear
im thinking of meteor red base then fireball red flake then red apple candy. will the candy kill the look of the red flake or would it look just the same as laying say a gold or a silver flake down instead. is it possible to base, candy, flake then clear??
lastly how do they get the ole skool look with real heavy flake ?? is the bike just shot with a ton of flake then a mass of clear, is there a base colour or does the flake determine the colour of the bike
many thanks

I have never used flake or Kandy, so take this with a grain of salt, but I would think that you would want to use silver flake instead of red under the candy. The flake would probably show up better. If you are using candy, I don't even know if you should use a red base. Just shoot the flake and kandy over it.

I am sure that someone that has done it before can get on here and tell you for sure......

I just tried something similar silver base, red flakes with apple candy over it....the red flakes looked kinda like dirt on the silver base. I tried silver flakes and they worked much better.I also tried silver mini flakes on a silver base and apple candy over it .....looked very sharp.
