Some painters pull them off as soon as they put the gun down, some wait until it's dry - I like to wait until the base is fairly dry that way if a peice of tape hits the "art" I don't leave a mark - just be careful if you yank it off when its wet --- Bones!~

If you have a spot or 2 on your truck that looks like it peeled up when the tape was removed it was probably caused by poor prep techniques - If you wet sand and degrease... you shouldn't have any problems - What happens when the prep isn't done right is the paint (flame) that your shooting doesn't have anything to grab onto because the base wasn't sanded or scuffed enough - The same thing happens when you wetsand primer and bust through a spot and leave it bare metal then shoot your base and then put tape over it for your next grafik color, when you pull that tape off, 9 times outta 10 it's going to take the base off also - leaving you with a big mess -- 98% of great paint jobs is all in the prep work -- Bones!~

Kind of depends if I pull it fresh or after it's flashed off.If there's lots of tape I let it flash but if it's an easy untape I'll pull it wet so the edge will roll over and not be so sharp. You have to be careful if it's starting to flash because the paint on the smooth tapes like fineline is likely to roll off and flip over on the paint.

If you touch the tape and the color comes off on your finger like you just sprayed it it's still wet(duh

) When you get paint on your finger but it's starting to feel sticky it's flashing off.The fleshing starts as soon as you spray it on because the solvents are evaporating but it takes a minute or 2 to start getting sticky on top. There's a short time when it starts flashing that if you try to pull the tape the paint will string and be a real mess. When I say immediately it's really either completely wet like I just made the pass and pulled the tape or I let it sit for a few minutes.
