flames on factory paint

Any problem painting flames over factory paint. I have a black 01 Yamaha Roadster with very good paint and want to paint flames on it. What do I need to do to prep the paint in order to paint the flames.

hrmm... I would think that a light wet-sanding (not enough to screw up the existing paint, just enough to allow your flamework to get a grip) would work. Try not to sand too far outside where you want to put the flames, and clean things up good before you start shooting.

The rest is S.O.P....

Now, that' MY approach. But I'm not an expert, so check with the Guys to see if there are any pitfalls I don't know about.

Just wet sand with 600-800grit paper for 'tooth' then paint as usual.
Nothing really special about it.

They are all right. Just lightlywet sand the factory clear.to give the tank some TOOTH for the paint to grip. Of course, be sure to clear the finished product.
