Flash times

What exactly does it mean for a paint to flash? I assume it is a certain degree of dryness the paint has reached. How can you tell when a paint has "flashed". How much time does it usually take.

And a final question (for now). How much time between primer coat, base coat, finish coat, and clear coat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif

Thanks!

Flash time is the time it taked for each coat to dry before you can put the next one on and it depends on what the product is and if you reduced it with the proper reducer and/or hardner.Usually it runs 10-15 minutes between coats but the label or tech sheet will always tell you.

If you can't find your paint brands tech sheets, there are some sites for them in the "LINKS" section of the Flames Board.
