Welcome. If you spray it 'flat black', it should already have the flattening agent in it.

I re-read your post, I probably misunderstood you. If you want your hood to end up in a flat or satin black, you can either do it in a single stage or a basecoat clearcoat type paint.
If you go with the single stage, this will included the flattening agent. If you want to to it basecoat clearcoat, only the clearcoat will need the flattening agent.

There is a great single stage hot rod black. Love it. Kirker hot rod satin black. Autobodytoolmart carries it. Get the right temp activator. Don't have to reduce with a good gun. Hope this helps.
