Flat Clear Coat Paint

I just seen a car in a Hotrod magazine that was painted in basecoat black and a coat of flat clearcoat. It was very cool!!!
Can you flame and use the "FlatCoat"? What if you make a mistake, can you fix it. Can you sand and buff it? Will it stay flat? Can you see the flames clearly through it? I know alot of questions but It gave me alot of ideas for my bike this winter and just need some feedback before I jump into it. Thanks... Art

I don't know but it will probably subdue the flames some.If you buff it it'll gloss up some but not much.If something happens you'll probably have to sand and recoat.I know PPG sells flat and semi gloss clear premade which I think is better than making it yourself with flattner, but it doesn't stand up well to the elements like normal clear.
