gasoline getting under clearcoat

Having a problem with motorcycle tanks, no matter where i stop the clear, gas seems to find its way under the edge at the neck, any ideas on a way to seal the edge better?

dont feel alone. i have read up on this here and there as i run into the same thing. i hear a bead of JB weld around the neck covering the edge of the cc works. i tried it and the Jb weld popped off after a while. the next thing i tried was fiberglass resin in the same method. been holdng up pretty good. wonderin if baking the paint will help or a change of cc.
from what i understatnd, it's not just the liquid gas that does this, but the vapor can seep under the edhe and lift the paint.

I see this more of a problem on the aftermarket tanks and the older (pre-96) tanks where the bungs are welded in.
The main problem is, that most of today's paints are basecoat clearcoat. The clear is good, but the base has no hardener in it, so the vapors get to the base, thus working from the edge/bottom of the paint. The best thing you can do is cut the bad area off (if it's not too far from the bung), then apply somesort of tank sealant like POR-15 around the edge. This will get you by for quite a while....as long as it's not too late.
