After basing a set of tanks and fenders, laying out my flames, i mixed purple pearl in intercoat clear and sprayed. I unmasked and final clear. I got this nasty white edge around 70% of my flames!! did i spray too much pearl / IC clear?not even close to a ghost flame...........Help

A couple things could have caused this...

Sounds like you sprayed them on with a spray gun, so you could have used one that was putting out too much material. In other words, you really should use one that atomizes real good to keep the edges thin as possible.

Another problem could have been you put too much interclear in the pearl. If you do this, of course it will take more coats to get your flame covered in the pearl, thus making the flames thick.

I mixed mine heavy enough that I got the coverage in two coats. This left very little edge, and I knocked it down lightly with a grey scuffie.
