I would suggest going ahead and spraying the base white, then spraying the topcoat in Tangelo, then mixing in a separate can, start some Tangelo, then add some regular red (solid color is fine like GM Torch Red), this will give it a more red tint to it, but still have the "pearl" look to it. You won't need much red to change it. The more you add, the more it will change your ghost effect. This is the best and most effective way of getting your ghost effect.
To really give it a ghost effect, be sure and spray just the edges of the flames---in other words don't spray them solid.
Here is a pretty good example of tinting the HOK pearls to give them a ghost effect.
Then...for a really neat effect, once you are done with the flames, tint the tangelo/red mix with even more red, then do just the flame tips, *then* spray 2 coats of plain "yellow pearl" (I use PPG Global yellow pearl tint) with a basecoat clear (I use PPG D895) over the *complete* flame job. This gives is an even more pearlescent look to the flames, but yet still ties it in with the base paint of the car. Hope this didn't confuse you
The above, of course is not necessary though to still get a neat ghost flame job.
Enjoy!
