Ghost flames

hi i was wondering if anyone could help me out. i am about to paint my truck a metallic maroon color and wanted to paint some transparent/ghost flames on it in maybe a gold color. if anyone can send me any info at all on this for anycolor i would appreciate it greatly. i have never painted these type of flames before and am trying to learn how. thanks

I just finished a ghost flame on a Harley tank. Used Harlequin, let down with 20 parts DBC500. Read the tech bulletins on the PPG products on their web site, or ask your PPG jobber for them. It allows the underlying paint to shine through, doesn't take much. For this tank I ended up using 3 cc of the Harlequin, that's 1/10 of an ounce; let it down with 2 ounces DBC500 (a mid coat clear that can be shot on top of an existing paint job, possibly urethane only, not sure, then clear coated).
