I should rephrase my question, The flames I am refuring to are the ones that have a silver outline with a brandywine kandy over the top. Just not sure what the exact color is.

How do I spray the ghost color to get the best effect? Are pearls the only why to go for the ghosting effect or is there anything else out there I can use like candies?

That's the beauty of painting. You can do anything you like. There are many different ways of achieving many different effects. The best thing to do is to spray out a few test panels and see what you like. It's more work, but it's the only way to be sure of what you are going to get.

I bought a copy of Vandemons Ghost Flames on DVD and would reccommend it to you. He takes you through the whole process of painting and there is a segment on using a pounce pattern to get an exact duplication. He uses an electo-pounce, now theres a neat tool! Al

Flame thrower hit it on the head. The only rules is they aint no rules. I got a nice flame effect, just today, on a black substrate using blue pearl than some white shading followed by some red pearl and a little violet, no pinstripes, but not ghost flames, but still subtle. Looks great in the sunlight. AL

Can you use candy colors (red, blue, etc.) over black for ghost flames? Will it be visible enough? I see that they have them on the site like that.
