Hello All,

I have an experimental aircraft and would like to paint for very subtle flames on the engine cowling and wheel pants. The plane is painted with PPG Delstar acrylic enamel in DAR 4682H Cameo White. I would like to paint some nearly invisible flames and would like some advice on how to pick a flame color. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

THIS ALL DEPENDS ON HOW CARRIED AWAY YOU WANT TO GET.
IF YOU DONT MIND PAINT EDGES TRY THESE 2 WAYS.
1...MASK OUT FLAME AREA AND SPRAY ON A PEARL TONER ,WHICH IS USUALLY WHITE WITH A HINT OF GREEN,BLUE,GOLD,RED ETC
USUALLY THE ANGLE THAT YOU LOOK AT FROM SIDE ON OF A PEARL TONER/TINTER IN A STANDARD VEHICLE TONER/TINTER RANGE WILL DO THIS.
THIS LIST MEANS PEARLS
WHITE GOES WHITE
BLUE ANGLE/YELLOW
GOLD ANGLE/BLUE
GREEN/ANGLE/RED
PLUS MANY OTHERS THAT THE PAINT SHOP THAT YOU BUY IT FROM WILL BE ABLE TO SHOW YOU FROM THEIR CHARTS.
ALL PEARLS WILL NEED A CLEARCOAT AFTER WARDS
2... TINT THE COLOR OF THE AIRCRAFT SLIGHTLY TO YOUR LIKING AND SPRAY THE FLAMES IN THAT
