Gonna attempt a HOK candy job on the vette

I'm glad i found this forum. Have been browsing through the 45 pages of posts and there is a lot of information here you can't get anywhere else.

my vette has a chromabase/glamor clear job i did in 91 and it has been great. Still shines great but the clear has worn through in a few spots and there are a few cracks in the paint where i probably went a little thick.

I plan to sand it with 400 grit and repair the cracks as necessary then use the medium quasar blue as a base for a candy job. I plan to shoot the whole thing after sanding with 400 with adhesion promoter AP-1 and immediately start the UC-35 clear mixed with ocean blue kosmic pearl in a second gun to apply before the AP dries. After 2-3 coats of pearl start the kandy by adding KK oriental blue and reduce the about of tint in each progressive coat. I realize i must stop and wait 12 hours and sand with 400 after the 3rd or 4th coat. Continue with the candy, then clear wait, and sand it again and then do the flow coats. I'm probably not good enough to do a great job on the car but i'm sure it will be acceptable to me.

I plan to use the fast reducer but have bought both fast and medium if it dries too fast. A few questions.

1. I assume its ok to mix fast and medium reducer if need be.
2. The ocean blue kosmic pearl looks snow white in the jar. Is that right, or do i have the wrong color?
3. Which HOK or other videos are recommended for maximum learning? I ordered HOK custom video and know the tech manual by heart.

Its good to have you guys here because i'm probably going to run into problems. I am going to paint in the driveway like i did the dupont chroma job.

It is ok to mix reducers like that but don't skip one, like fast and slow to make med.The pearl is right too.I'm not sure what the adhesion promoter is in the equasion for so I'll leave this to those that play with HOK.
