I just get all my HOK paint through the local auto paint supply store. You can also order from Coastairbrush. Prices are about the same, give or take a few bucks

Art, i think you are going to pay pretty much the same where ever you buy from ( jobbers ), like Scott said Coast air brush sells small quanities, but you are paying more for that smaller portion than if you bought the quart and break it down. I could be wrong about not finding it cheaper, but if you find a sourse selling it cheaper please let us know. www.autobobysupply.net sells a couple of bucks cheaper but you have to figure in shipping and handeling

Yes,if you come across anything post it.I've looked and found nothing worthwhile.I do get it right at shop price most of the time but it doesn't hurt me to tell someone of a good deal to save them money.

As Scott said Coastal Airbrush is your best bet for SMALL quanities. If your going to buy large quanities then go to the HOK website and do a dealer search in you area and they can hook you up.

I buy from Coastal, they are alittle more expensive but they have everything in small quanities...even Kameleons by the oz. ! Plus they special order, for example: I called last Thursday and asked for 4 oz. of PP-05 Prism Pearl Blue Paste. They said they no longer stocked it because of low demand. I said the customer picked a white base with PP-05 ghost flames...help me out. Coastal said no problem, they will have it Friday and ship it to me the same day(Fri.) with my Kameleon order. How can you beat service like that for 4oz of rotten paste. Plus they stock Automask

. The only bummer for me is I'm on the other side of the country and you can't ship paint by air without paying big money. But it only takes 5 business days by ground

Check out autobodysuplliy like ez said..they are cheaper but not as many small quanities available.

That place Welle Auto is not bad. (see HOK tech sheet post)

Cararts isn't bad either...

Check out coastal though...

I kind of stumbled on to a web site selling H.O.C. paints and the prices seem very good. Maybe someone could look and tell me what you think... The web site is Innate.com. and under there H.O.C. page there selling "DIY paint kits" There "color kit" has any 6 base coats(6oz), any 2 marbelizers(4oz), any 6 kandie koncentrates(2oz), any 2 dry pearls(1oz), 1 qt reducer, and 1qt of SG100 intercoat clear all for $149.00 and no I don't work for the company I just thought they had good prices. Please let me know before I buy. Thanks... Art http://www.innate.com/HOK/diy/color_kits.htm

Art, about a month ago Innate .com contacted me through my custom paint web site, to see if i would give them a try. Just taking a quick look at their prices products like Marbilizer and intercoat clear were priced only about $5 less per pint each than i could buy a quart for (double the quanity for $5 )go to www.autobodysupply.net they have a price list of about 99% of the HOK line and its pretty close to what i buy for ( with in a couple of dollars per item ) so this way you can comparison shop. Its all right for small quanities but i rather buy normal sizes (quarts etc. ) always thinking i can use the left over on a future project and then thats how you start really making money on a job when you already have the needed product and dont have to spend on it, yes i have a ton of left over products, may be i should start selling small quanities

Well last time i checked about 6 weeks ago (i was cleaning out the garage ) all my house of Kolor seemed ok. i have a couple cans of the paint i used for my wifes sporty which i did about 2 years ago and they didnt jell or any thing. i think as long as you keep a tight lid on things and dont reduce, they will be alright. i have also bought paint with the older style labels and it was fine. but clear dosent seam to last long once opened, i have had some clear thicken up quite a bit, it was more like ruberized undercoat.

Usually paint will last a long time if it's resealed. The trick is to wipe the top of the can clean where the lid seals.Hardners or catalyst is a different story. They're moisture sensitive and can go bad fast. Most manufacturers say use it up once opened within a week to a few.If you only leave the cap off only long enough to pour it and wipe the top before recapping it a month isn't unreasonable if the humidity isn't like fog.You can tell most of the time because it gets cloudy looking compared to the clear look when you first opened it.Mixing tints can sit on the rack for months to a year and the tops leak so they're not totally sealed up.Some last and some wont.Reds are prone to go bad and get 'seedy' in this case.Seal up your clear like you would the paint too,it can get cloudy over a length of time.I never subscribed to the refrigerator trick and don't recommend it.It's main purpose was to keep catalized material from kicking off for a day or so.
