i've never shot the stuff before and i need to shoot it on a fender? the guy that i'm shooting it for said that he had another guy shoot it on his saddle bags and it came out a shade darker than original and he couldn't keep the stuff from harding too fast. turned into a tar consistancy and wouldn't lay out at all.

was he doing something wrong? is there something i should know about the stuff before i shoot it? any help would be great.

this is a urethane basecoat cobalt blue.

If the setup is a base coat clear and your spraying saddle bags I would add the vinyl to it.(need to chekc to see if the mix is already a vinyl setup or just BC/CC paint). I use a semi gloss Dupont 305. Sometimes when mixing the standard BC/CC it looks fine, however, when you turn it into a vinyl it darkens. I have my own toners to readjust the tint. If he tried to mix it with a CC then shoot it some of them I have seen will go like tar real quick. Not sure if this helped you out your more then welcome to call me about this I do spot repairs for a living. Bikes customizing is a hobby to me.

it was a ones stage urethane. i went to stir it up and it wouldn't even drip off the stirring stick. i went to o'r. and color matched it. turned out pretty good.
