heater

Hey guys, I was just wandering what type of heater would be best to use to heat my garage for when I paint? It is only a one car, but it has a fan to **** out the over spray, so I need something that will keep up. A price and a place to start shopping would also be helpful. Thanks in advanced for any help and ideas.

my buddy had an old central heat unit that he ripped out of his house to upgrade. he was going to trash it, but i said hell no, i'll take it ;)

i made a tiny building out of the back of my garage and plumed it in. now i've got central heat! works good for me.

radiant heat would be a great idea. hot water hoses in your floor, or there are some heaters that use the top corner areas of your wall to radiate heat. pretty pricy though. that's why i liked my freebee.

I'd look into one of the window units that acts as a heat pump. We have one that runs as an A/C in the summer and a heater in the winter. Keeps the room very warm. The one below is one they have at home depot. No open flame so no risk of KaBoom if paint vapors get near the unit.
Fedders
8,000 BTU Heat/Cool Window Air Conditioner

Thanks for the input. I would love to be able to afford a radiant type heater, but for now, I will probably stick with the window unit type. I do like the idea of piping in the heat though. I guess I will just have to see what I can get my hands on. Thanks again for the help- these forums are great.
