Hello Adam, I am also from Houston (NW side). Always nice to see other Texans on boards.

Painting a toolbox to match your car, seems a little much for part of a show display, how big is your toolbox? How big to you plan on having your display? A toolbox isn't really something you want associated with a show car, that shows you need tools for it, lol. I would suggest getting a hood that matches the one on the car (maybe trim it down some to make it smaller too) and paint it to match and then get vinyl and list out all modification and any other information about the car on there and use that as your show board. I did that with my last truck and I have never seen that since, so it help you stand out and it is easier to carry around over a toolbox. I actually had judges comment about the hood idea, got me first at Texas Heatwave (picture below at Heatwave)

wow thats a nice truck........
But with my tool box I was thinking of for my indoor shows I wanted a real big display... I have no idea in what direction I am going now, but I was thinking of making it look like an old gas station or a possible pit stop?? The idea with the tool box to be a medium size roll around box painted to match with logos and letters on the backside.... It would also double as a place to store all my detail products while at the shows...

O btw how the heatwave work do the cars stay there over nite or do you leave & come back in the mourning??

Nice car as well. how do you plan to carry the toolbox to the shows, is your car trailered or something? Toolbox is a nice idea, just seems a little much, remember the show is about your car, don't want to go overboard on the display. The display will get you points, but again, there is such thing as too much.

As for heatwave, you can leave the car there overnight (lots of security there overnight) or you can drive it to your hotel and then back the next day (which is what I do).

yes it will be a trailer queen, as soon as my trailer is ready... (next month hopefully). I think I may go with a smaller box and make it look more like a emergancy kit or maybe if GM made a tool kit for my car....

Thanks for your help, are you going the be at the Texas Showdown this weekend??
