OK i am ready to paint my car i need to know if i doing it right.
1) I have the car primed sealed and wiped down
2) Next should i paint the color for the transition stripe.
3) Tape the trasition color with blue 3m fine line tape.
4) Mask off top from the bottom to spray the top first using the transition tape to tape too.
5) Spray color let flash spray one lite coat of clear with prl in it, let flash.
6) Ok 1 1/2 hour passes for tape flash
7) Remove tape and plastic and tape off the top half.
8) Repeat step 5 thru 7
9) wipe down
10) Spray one lite coat of clear follow by 3 med coats of clear.

I am using 2 different colors of prl one each for the different colors of the split. I am totoly new to two toneing a car so any help you can give would help...

I am using PPG DBC PPG 2002 and 3m blue fine line tape and 3m green tape.

your Pearl should be mixed into DBC500 clear(assuming you are using PPG pearls) not the 2002 this will make it much easier.
Also is the base color for the pearl the same? or totally different top and bottom?
number 6 could almost be shortened to 15min if you used the DBC500.

otherwise it looks like a plan just follow your tech sheets

Thank you wydir. Yes in the the base color is different. The top half of the car is going to be silver met and bottom half grey met.
