First of all Hello, Names Scott,
I have been painting for over 5 years i am 23 years old,
I have been to many Paintshops in this time learning new and better ways of doing things but i feel i need some advice from over the Waters as i am now starting up myself and have a number of Full resprays to start me off...
I have a car Lexus Is200 going fantasy purple... Now this is my question...
The color is full of pearl, but i was hoping to do a shel respray as in with the doors bonnet tailgate and bumper of is this possible with this color..?
What i mean is that i have been told to colour car black the the Fantasy Purple... So picture this, car shell is all painted, cheques, Quarters, roof and wings built to the shell.
So it is all laqured. Then coming out the booth Wet blocked with 2000 grit sand paper then put back in the both for a final clear coat as this customer is wanting a flatten and final...
So shell is all done looking good in workshop now comes the time to paint the doors bonnet and tailgate, then the bumpers after so they are all done and ready to get fitted to the car...

Whats the chances of the doors bonnet tailgate being off colour..?
As i have been under the impression for many years a colour like this should be done as a built up respray because of the strength of the pearl...
Just would like to do it like described to keep nibs and dust particles to a very minimum..

Colour is here..

I "think" what you want is to spray the car apart. Then put it back together. At least I think that's what you meant. I think uou had a few typos that changed everything, but the following, kind of gave me a clue that the doors were off the car and you had to put them back on.

so they are all done and ready to get fitted to the car

If that's what you are meaning, yes, you can spray the doors, bumpers and whatever else. They should match if it's a basecoat/clearcoat and you do everything the same way. Probably best that you do them all at the same time to ensure the correct color match.

This would have to do with how good you wipe the parts/car down, blow it off, tack it. No matter if you have the car apart or not.
Of course this also has to do with how clean the spray booth and your equipment is as well.

Yes Taz thats what i meant... All the equipment will be brand new but i dont know how clean the booth will run to start with if that makes sense.
Surely if i was to lay down the basecoat the same on the doors as i have the shell the color will be the same..

Also any tips on a Flatten and final..?
Such as thin out laquer etc
