Hi, sure no problem.
You didn't say it the parts were wetsanded and buffed after the paint job. If so, you can just use a clay bar to remove the overspray.
OR, if you did not wetsand and buff, and you are trying to kill 2 birds with one stone, you can resand flat (eliminating any edge from the stripe edges), and remove the overspray and reclear.

I would recommend 600 DA, then 1000 grit wetsand.
If you don't have a DA setup for 600 grite Trizact, then just use 800 grit wetsand.

Or, you could just wetsand with 1500 and buff the parts as they sit, but it would probably be like buffing concrete by now.

would 600 with a da go through the clearcoat?? i was just going to wetsand to level out and creat a scratch to bond to ....thanks for the reply..i am petrified that i am going to ruin the paint job it looks great and i cant wait to get it doon ...is it ok to pinstripe now or after the clear....?

I'd do a light scuff with 600. or a grey Scotchbrite pad, to get off the overspray, and dull it out for the new clear. Then pinstripe it ( use the clear's hardener in the pinstriping paint, so it doesn't wrinkle) and put on 2-3 more coats of clear. Then you even have enough to buff it out if you like.
BTW, I always wait a month or so before sanding and buffing my paint jobs out...yeah, they do get hard, but the paint doesn't shrink or dull out any after being buffed.

Yes, you'll need to be very careful with 600 grit DA. Normally I just do the flat and bigger areas. Then finish it with 1000 grit. In your case, you can just do where the lines are, and just 1000 grit or even 800 wetsand the rest.
Then reclear.
If you had about 3 coats + of clear, it will be fine.

thanks i will need to find a pinstriper and ask what kind of paint he uses....

I'm a pinstriper and most of the time I use One Shot enamel. If you're going to clear over One Shot, you should add the One Shot hardener to the paint. Another alternative is to use a urethane striping paint. House of Color makes some good pinstriping urethanes. If you're going to clear over urethane striping paint, no need to add hardener to it.

Personal preference really. It's a matter of if you want the stripes buried under the clear or not. Based on the pic you posted, I would probably bury that stripe under the clear. You can always add the names later and put those on top of the clear.
