Hello, I am a newbie and I need some help. Heres the skinny - I laid down a base of HOK solar gold and shot some Kandy Tangerine (kk mixed in SG-100, Not UK Kandy) over it. I masked off some graphics with 3M 1/8" fineline over the Kandy Tangerine and painted them greed. Here is the problem - When I went to peel off the 1/8" fineline it left a band of Kandy Tangerine that was lighter than the rest of the piece. I have a band of lighter Kandy Tangerine bordering my graphics. What Happend?? Where did I go wrong?? WHat caused this??

Also, when I peeled of the rest of the regular masking tape it left behind glue in some places that I cant seem to get off.

I am very new to this and a little frustrated. Any help or comments you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Did you put down some intercoat clear between the base and graffix? That could be the problem. The tape residue is from using inferior tape most likely. It should come off with a little wax & grease remover.

Don't get frustrated, get educated. One of the great things about this all is there is always a reason and solution to paint problems. Hang in there.
