I saw in another post that you didn't like the white PPG epoxy primer. Is it different than the other colors of the same stuff? I'm getting ready to spray my bike red, and felt that a white primer would cover better than a dark primer.

I used the black epoxy last year on the same bike, and paint stuck to it like hair on a gorilla! Just hope the white will do the same.

Thanks

The white is good stuff and one of few white bases, but it's worthless over bare steel, kind of like lacquer priming bare steel(that's the reason I trash it). There's no corrosion properties whatsoever in it.There's a gallon of it in the mixing rack that gets replaced about every 4-6 months, but we only use it to tint one of the other colors or use it as a sealer-of course I don't like DP as a sealer but it's what gets used most at the shop for price and versatility. It is pretty pure so I've used it as a base for things. The pearl coat of Nissan's white 3stage pearl looks great over it since it's purer than the Nissan white base,it really makes your eyes hurt in the sun.Pure DMD1686 (I think) white tint isn't much purer but it is a little. If you want to use it go right ahead,I just like to have a well sealed surface first, like original paint or steel sealed off with a good coat of DP40 first.Sometimes I get carried away and say something is junk or useless but it really does have a certain or specialty use.Sorry to throw you off.
