I'm steven i'm stationed out in california, Marine corps. I'm a metalsmith/welder/painter for the marine corps and i since the paint job on my car is starting to look like crap i was thinking i could do it my self. i've measured the paint booth i use on base and its not big enough to roll my gto into :( sooooo i was wondering if anyone knew where i could rent a paint booth for a weekend or something. So if some of you pros could help me out that would be awesome!

I'm in Fl so I don't know anyone out in CA that would have a booth for rent.

Don't find too many renting out booths, because of the liability. Especially these sue happy days.

You might want to get it completely prepped and see how much a bodyshop would charge to paint it for you. I would guess $500-$800 to mask it up and shoot if for you.
Plus materials of course.

Then they would have to sand down the primer, then sand down the base coat....costing me THOUSANDS!! :bs:

So how long have you been in the business?

hmmmm, if it's "completely prepped", why would they need to do any sanding?
You mentioned that you were going to paint it yourself, so I assumed that you would have the ability to prep it yourself

Why would they need to sand the basecoat? Basecoat doesn't get sanded.

Been in business for 9 years. Painting for 25 years.

So after you spray your base coat, you have absolutely no orange peel? Because when i shoot panels for the birds i see orange peel in it. i guess you have a better paint gun then i do.
