Hi my name is Paul Higginson but most people know me as "Higgy". I left school in 1980 and served a coach painter apprenticeship with Rolls Royce Motors in Crewe, England. During my time with the company I painted a couple of cars for the Geneva and Frankfurt motor shows which was a real honour. I also did some pinstriping on the cars for awhile. During the first few years I also took my first steps into custom painting. My first trick paint job was on my old Suzuki bike which i did in heavy Green metalflake, real old school. I left the company in '85 after getting bored with production painting and became a freelance truck painter. Some time later I had a body shop but gave it up after a couple of years, to much hassle dealing with insurance companies and trying to get paid. Over the years I did a few different jobs but still kept my hand in with the spray gun and airbrush. About ten years ago I took up the ancient art of tattooing which seemed like a natural progression from custom paint. I'm surprised how much paint technology has moved on and find it a little confusing, that is why I'm here now. I am now planning to open a SMART repair business mainly dealing with motorcycles.
