Hi,

Assuming you mean thick edges, you will need to clearcoat, then resand, and reclear again.

Not really. If you have some basic paint, you probably could have went 'lighter' when spraying them. Like a black colors. This covers quickly and does not take many coats thus keeping the thickness down.

Also, if you are doing like a silver flame job. You can spray the silver first. Then mask UP the flames, then spray the black last.
This would also keep the thickness down versus spraying the black first, then the silver
