I have a project to do, a new road king police special (factory birch white) which I want to two tone HOK Kandy cobalt over gold metallac and their universal blue prism pearl. Can I use the factory white as a base,(just scuff it and go) or do I have to go to bare metal and use the appropriate primers and their bc 26 (BASE WHITE) ?? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. AL

As long as it's in good shape you should be able to use it. Degrease - Sand it down with 600 or 800 and let it rip!! -- Bones!~

I just did one a few days ago. Scuffed the white and sprayed the black base right over top of it. Added some gold flake to the intercoat and did some old school flames. Came out nice.

Thanks yall, good deal I was hoping that would be the case. The paint is brand new. I think I will get a magnetic tester and check dry film thickness, just for my own comfort level. This will be my first try with HOK but Ive heard they are user friendly if you follow the tech sheet to the letter, thanks again and wish me luck. Only other thing is that gas tank, Ive never pulled one with a fuel pump inside, Im sure some suprises await me.... Al
