HOK Candy Tangerine over silver question..TAZ?

I have been beating the bushes trying to figure out how to get a finished product like Taz's chopper. I see that a silver base is used with candy tangerine over it. I would like to get a little more specific as in which silver base, and what form to purchase the candy in...really just what steps to do it. I have a really good painter going to paint it but I want to make sure it turns out the right color. Is there any particular metal flake needs to be added? Also, we are going to have flames and I thought it might be kewl to have the chamelion flames with some flake over the candy tangerine paint job..i thought it be kewl having the colorshift effect on just the flames. I would love suggestions and steps..Parts will be ready to paint by Saturday so I need to get some ideas. Thanks, I can't wait! I will post pics of the job when done.

The best, easiest way is to get the paint already mixed from HOK. That way it can even be matched later for touch up, or re-doing a part. Orion SIlver is the base, you just have to choose between FBC and BC, fine basecoat or regular basecoat...the BC has larger metallics. Of course you can add larger flake, if desired, like their Ultra flake. Candy is available premixed, or in a concentrate you add to clear (basecoat or final). Again, in your case, for ease, and consistency, get the pre mix.
Color is a whole 'nother story! The final color depends on how many coats of candy you apply, and how heavily you apply it. Do test panels before deciding how many coats. On the bike, if you go "just one more" you can't go back! Each coat will make it darker, and the effect of the flake under it will be lessened, with lots of coats.
Also, be sure to test out your Chameleon flames idea on a panel as well. You may decide you dont' like it, and might want to do flames under the candy, or just use flip flop pearl over the candy instead of the more radical color change of the chameleon paint.

Thanks! I will look into the flip flop pearl. I have not seen that.

This started with a black metallic base (factory), taped off the flames, and sprayed some HOK Orion Silver BC and textured it. Then gave it 5 coats of HOK Kandy Tangerine (UK).
